Assookinakii Cowl
Farmer's Daughter Fibers' first design, Assookinakii (ass-s-oo-kin-uh-k-EE) means “healer” in the Blackfeet language. A big part of SU is embracing the healing journey. This pattern is meant you to let go of your worries, stress, and tension to enjoy a simple but engaging pattern. Through knitting we mend what troubles our hearts.

Birch Creek Shawl

This piece is very easy to make and wear. The stitch pattern gives enough interest to keep going, but also repetitive enough to do while watching a show or listening to an audio book. This larger shawl version of the Birch Creek Bandana is worn folded in half (as a triangle) and easily wrapped around the shoulders. The two-color brioche and garter stitch makes for a squishy reversible fabric.
Birch Creek Shawl is knit from the bottom up beginning with an I-Cord Cast-On. There are two options given for this I-Cord Cast On. The sample used the ‘Provisional Cast On Using a Crochet Hook Method Set-up Option’. This shawl is worked back and forth utilizing soothing garter stitch and fun two color brioche. Slip all slipped stitches purl wise in this shawl. The shape of this shawl is a square. To wear this shawl, you will fold it in half on the diagonal to then wrap around your neck or shoulders. An I-Cord edging is worked throughout so all sides of this shawl have a neat I-Cord finish.

These cozy boot socks are quick to whip up and warm and wonderful to wear. Knit in Pishkun, a rustic heavy-DK from The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, they are written for 7 sizes, from 6.5-11” 16.5-28 cm circumference and adjustable to any foot length. You can also substitute a superwash DK like Juicy DK if you prefer, just make sure to check your gauge!

Trail Less Taken Shawl (PREORDER, Ships beginning to mid-December)
Sarah Barca of Strung Out Knits designed this gorgeous shawl for Sisters United. Trail less taken is a traditional triangle shape shawl featuring two amazing yarns, Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool and Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Soka’pii. It uses slip stitches to bring out the unique color shifts found in the Spincycle Dyed in the Wool. The slipped stitches also give just a hint of texture to the finished fabric. Edging is worked in a simple alternating seed stitch. The Soka’pii gives the shawl a wonderful rustic feel while still being soft and snuggly.
