The Farmers Daughter Fibers

Hand Dyed Fibers in The Last Best Place

Inn on the Creek & Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Retreat

March 26th to March 29th

Registration has changed to November 5th, sorry for any inconvenience!

When the folks from Inn on the Creek invited us to partner with them for a Knitting Retreat in 2020 we immediately jumped at the chance! Jackson, Wyoming is full of some of the most breathtaking scenery and we could not be more excited to share this adventure with our knitting community. While planning our weekend in Jackson, Caitlin Hunter from Boyland Knitworks and Farmer’s Daughter Fibers teamed up for Caitlin’s first book collection (coming October 2019!). We often spoke of how we wanted to share our process with the world and this is our perfect opportunity! This quiet and quaint retreat will not only feature Caitlin’s collection, but you will also get a closer look at the process of the book, how to size and style your knits, how Candice ties her creative process with her spirituality, and how to become a color work pro like Caitlin.

In the heart of Jackson, WY and nestled next to Flat Creek, the Inn on the Creek is renowned for its picturesque setting, friendly service and delicious breakfast. We will be taking over the Inn for the long weekend to relax and enjoy this picturesque part of the West! Our classes will be held at the unique Jackson Hole Center for the Arts building, just a short walk from the Inn. Lunch will be catered into our classroom and dinners will be held at some of the best restaurants Jackson has to offer!

Like all of Farmer’s Daughter Fibers retreats we believe that a large part of the retreat is, RETREATING! We will be hosting classes for 4 hours per day, share all of our delicious meals together, but you get to be in charge of the rest of your downtime. March in Jackson is typically still snowy so whether you want to do some outdoor adventuring (have you SEEN the Tetons?!), head over to the local yarn shop Knit On Pearl for a knit circle, or take some down time in your cozy room, you get to decide. Don’t worry, we will create a list of fun things to do in the area!

The weekend will kick off Thursday evening with a Sip n’ Knit, Meet & Greet, Cocktail Hour, and Trunk Show all rolled into one! All of the weekend details will be sent to you about a month prior to the retreat.

Class Details

Ghost Town Book Project

Caitlin and Candice will chat about the creative process of the Ghost Towns collection and do a show-and-tell of all the the pieces!

Invoking Your Inner Creative Spirit

Do you struggle picking out colors? Ever say to yourself, ‘ I am not creative enough’, or maybe you just want to learn more about creativity. Candice will be talking the creative process one goes through, sharing her spiritual creative process while helping you get in tune with your inner creative spirit, and then how to apply that to your knitting!

Style Your Knits

Knitting garments to fit our body type can be a challenge! We want the hard work we put into our garments to feel as good on our bodies as they do on our needles. Caitlin will be diving into the importance of slow fashion while her and Candice show you how to measure your body for your knits and how to style them so YOU feel like the knitting superstar you are!

Confident Color work

Choose any project from the book to get you started on being the confident color work knitter you are meant to be! Caitlin will be sharing all of her tips and tricks while helping you get started, like gauge, tension, reading charts, etc. This is a great class for all skill levels, and in a community round table style class, which we think is an awesome way to connect with each other.

Registration will begin November 5th at 9:00 a.m. MST

Coming from rural Montana we understand that diversity is very much lacking in these parts of the country where we tend to host retreats (our homelands). We put forth a great effort to have meaningful conversations within our community on the importance of inclusion on an almost a daily basis, and we do the ground work in supporting our Indigenous Communities that are from these areas. While these locations are considered rural, we only host in communities that are progressive and safe for BIPOC, LGBTQ, and other marginalized groups of people. We highly encourage everyone and anyone to come experience this special land, we promise to show you an amazing time.
