Our Moon Sisters Yarn is a celebration of our celestial anchor, the light when all else is dark, and the force that ties all women together, making us sisters.
When we gave our talented friend, Boyland Knitworks of few skeins of this base we knew she would work her moon magic!
Caitlin can best describe this beautiful shawl:
‘‘Moon Sisters is a generously sized, deceptively simple triangle shawl featuring alternating garter and stockinette sections to create textured stripes, and a stranded colorwork design along the center spine. Optional fringe attaches easily to the ribbed eyelet border and finishes the look. I was inspired by Anna Maltz’s innovative and amazing marlisle technique for this design, you can check out her book for more projects using this fun method!
The body of the shawl is knit holding 2 colors of fingering weight for a marled effect and the 2 yarns are separated at the spine to work the colowork design- no intarsia! I used Moon Sisters yarn, a beautiful, subtly sparkly yarn from The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers for this design. The sparkle can only be seen in certain light, which I really love!’’
