Spring & Summer Knits-spo

Who doesn't love casting on a spring into summer knit project?! Think breezy tanks, effortless tees, lightweight shawls, slouchy bags, and those simple little tops you end up living in all season long. We're talking about the kind of lightweight layers for long days and warm nights knits that become part of your everyday wardrobe rotation.
This season, we’re leaning into the kinds of pieces that make spring and summer knitting feel so good. We’re continuing the concept of our Classic Knits Series with a warm weather edit. Same philosophy, just a little lighter and airier. These are still the patterns worth returning to again and again, but with that unmistakable shift that happens when the days get longer, warmer and the yarn on your needles starts to feel softer, breezier, and more relaxed.
A classic spring or summer knit has its own language, it may even have more drape and movement. Lightweight fabrics that skim instead of structure. Pieces you can throw over a sundress on cool evenings or wear with denim shorts and sandals all summer long. Effortless in that way the best warm weather knits always are.
To celebrate the season, we pulled together some of our favorite warm weather FDF bases to highlight. These are the yarns we dye specifically with spring and summer knitting in mind. Lightweight fibers, beautiful texture, airy halos, silky drape, and colors that feel alive in the sunlight.
From the ethereal look and cloud-like softness of Oh Dang! and Mighty Mo held on their own or together, to the silky sheen of Foxy Lady, the crisp stitch definition of Squish Fingering, the softness and strength of Bear Paw Sock, and the easy versatility of Juicy DK, each base offers its own kind of magic depending on what you want to make.
To help spark ideas, we’ve also created a series of "Quick Guides" and paired some of our favorite spring and summer patterns with the bases we love most for them. Think of these guides as inspiration points. A way to help you move from “I want to knit something” to “this is the one.” Because honestly, that is sometimes the hardest part.
