Offerings Cowl Knitting Pattern

The Offerings Cowl designed by Candice English draws its name and inspiration from Ki'piaapi, the prairie crocus, one of the first signs of spring in Blackfeet Country. Every year, without fail, Candice's mom announces the moment she spots the first one blooming. It's a small tradition, but it's one that's stuck with her and that sense of relief and renewal that comes with the first color breaking through after a long winter. This cowl is her way of carrying that feeling into a knit.

Cast on with a provisional cast-on and worked in the round, the Offerings Cowl is built from an eclectic mix of texture, colorwork, and lace. A little bit of everything, much like the mix of yarns that make it up. It's finished with a kitchener stitch graft, so the join disappears completely and you're left with a seamless, endless round.

This pattern includes two colorway/yarn version options, each pairing three contrast colors across different Farmer's Daughter Fibers and Spincycle bases. Full yardages and instructions for both are included in your download. You can check out other fiber friends beautiful finished projects here.
