Meet Antipodes, Andrea Mowry's 2026 Rhinebeck Sweater Pattern.
If anyone understands the magic of a perfect autumn knit, it's Andrea. This year's design is a celebration of thoughtful details and engaging construction. A beautifully engineered saddle shoulder forms the foundation; while stripes, stranded colorwork, and signature faux seams create a sweater that is equal parts classic and captivating. It is the kind of project that keeps you reaching for "just one more row" and rewards you with a garment you'll treasure for years to come.
For our Antipodes sweater 2026 kits, Andrea paired two yarns that feel right at home together. The main color is worked in our very own Confluence, a beautiful blend of 80% Targhee/Rambouillet wool and 20% cotton, 250 yds.
Inspired by the place where rivers meet, Confluence brings together the best qualities of both fibers. The wool provides warmth, elasticity, and beautiful stitch definition, while the cotton lends softness, breathability, and a subtle rustic character that feels grounded in the landscapes we call home.
The contrast color features Spincycle, Dyed in the Wool, which is 100% SW American Wool, 200 yds per skein, whose shifting hues create depth, movement, and that unmistakable touch of magic throughout the colorwork. Together, these yarns create a fabric that feels both timeless and alive, allowing every sweater to tell its own story.
Whether you're planning to wear your Antipodes sweater for the meetup on "The Hill" beneath the turning leaves of Rhinebeck, on a Montana backroad at golden hour or curled up with a cup of coffee on a chilly morning, we hope this project becomes part of your own knitting journey. Important Reminders and Notes
-
The pattern is NOT included and must be purchased separately from Andrea Mowry here.
- Dyed in the Wool varies skein by skein. While Spincycle always does their best to send us matching batches, what you get will vary slightly from the photo.
- Confluence is our most challenging yarn to dye, our small batches will vary and while we always guarantee matching skeins, you will find this yarn to be tonal and vary from batch to batch (basically, please get enough of your MC and don't play yarn chicken on this one). Thank you for appreciating our hand dyed yarn!
- In Confluence
- you might spot some vegetable matter. Don't worry, that's expected. Sheep are living animals out living their sheep lives, and while the mills do their best, a bit of earth occasionally makes it through. It's easy to pick out, and it's a small, honest reminder that this came from a real flock.
Kits are ready to ship and we will get them out the door ASAP, however it may take us up 7 to 10 business days to process and package orders due to the expected volume.
The kit includes the required quantity of Confluence and Spincycle Dyed in the Wool for your selected size.
