Granny squares, all grown up. The Salmon Street Bandana takes the classic starburst motif we love and gives it a modern, wearable twist, inspired by the delicate detail of micro crochet, but worked at a size that's actually fun to finish.

This pattern was written up for the 2024 Sacred Sheep fiber event, which is one of our favorite gatherings of the year. We wanted a pattern that captured all the fun and funky energy of that weekend.

Each square starts at the center and blooms outward using just single, half double, and double crochet. No fancy stitches required, which makes this a perfect beginner-to-intermediate crochet project for anyone ready to move past a basic square. Once your squares are complete, join them with your favorite seaming method to form a striking triangle bandana. Finish it off with I-cord ties (we love using a Cordsmith I-Cord Maker to whip those up in no time) and you've got a piece that's equal parts nostalgic and new.

Both written and charted instructions are included, so however you like to follow a pattern, we've got you covered.
