When we first brought Brusca by Rosa Pomar into the shop, Candice couldn't cast on fast enough. Paired with one of our signature Matchmaker Sets, it was the perfect recipe for a gorgous colorwork sweater that feels equal parts cozy, vibrant, and completely one-of-a-kind. So she whipped one up!

The Mayflower Jumper by Saskie & Co. features a stunning circular yoke inspired by Nordic knitting traditions, brought to life through the Matchmaker Method. By holding Spincycle Dyed in the Wool together with coordinating FDF Mohair Minis, the colorwork blooms across the yoke with incredible depth, softness, and movement. Every shift in color creates a fabric that feels painterly and unique.

Whether you choose to knit directly from your skeins and let the colors unfold naturally, or divide your Spincycle into smaller color sections and place each shade intentionally, the Matchmaker Method allows you to create a sweater that is uniquely yours.

These kits are available in the exact color combination featured in Candice's sample: Rosa Pomar Brusca -100% fine portuguese wool (50% Saloia, 50% Merino Branco and Merino Preto) / 136 yds / 50g. in Taupe for the main color, paired with 1 Matchmaker Set in colorway: Dirty Little Secret Dyed in the Wool and coordinating FDF Fluff Minis (your choice) for the colorwork yoke (Candice used the Mohair option for her sweater).

What Is the Matchmaker Method?

The Matchmaker Method pairs the slow color shifts of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool - 100% SW American Wool / 200 yards per skein, with the soft halo of FDF fluff in Mohair OR Oh Dang!, held together to create rich, layered color and texture. The result is a fabric full of depth and movement that transforms every stitch into a one-of-a-kind color story. For a deeper dive on the matchmaker method check out our blog.

What Is Included in this kit:

  • 6 to 13 skeins (depending on your size) of Brusca yarn in Taupe. 

  • 1 Matchmaker Set (Across All Sizes ), this includes: Two skeins of Spincycle's Dyed in the Wool (Please note these skeins can vary, we will give you 2 that match best together) + Your choice of Either Oh Dang! OR Mighty Mo mini skeins (6) in one of a kind matchmaker colors

* Please Note that the Matchmaker Sets in this kit are offered in 2 Fluff options, Mighty Mo - 64% Kid Mohair; 36% Silk, for some shine OR Oh Dang! - 74% Suri Alpaca, 26% Silk for a more classic matte look.

Both add that signature “fuzz” factor, just with a slightly different vibe.
