Knit Ski 2025

Knit Ski 2025 will be unlike any retreat we have hosted here at FDF. Across the Mountains and through the woods we will be making our way to the quaint yet massively beautiful Bitterroot Valley. Triple Creek Ranch will be our home for 3 nights for an all-inclusive luxurious private retreat. We have invited our friend and outdoor lover, Joji Locatelli to join us in retreating in the woods.

The Happenings of Knit Ski

On day one we will be learning from the Queen of Knitting herself, taking a class on Yarn Alchemy! Set up in a cozy cabin covered in snowfall, you will be learning all about mastering the art of selecting the perfect yarns and colors for your projects. All while being treated like Kings and Queens you are.

Day two will be choosing your own adventure. Either riding horses, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or maybe you just want to enjoy the stillness of the winter and knit in one of the many comfortable places at the Ranch. There are so many different activities included! You will be spoiled throughout this wonderful retreat with incredible food, 5 star service and the most pristine accommodations.

What is the vibe at the Ranch?

Triple Creek is set just a few miles outside of Darby, Montana. Deep in the woods you will find 24 cabins tucked away in nature. Some near the river and horse pastures, some closer to the main Lodge. Each cabin is equipped with a small kitchen, comfortable King beds with endless peace and quite. The main Lodge is where we will be dinning for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many places in the lodge to gather and knit including an amazing all inclusive bar. One of our favorite parts of the Ranch is the incredible Western Artwork that adorns the walls. You will feel incredibly well taken care of here.

Where should I fly into?

The closest airport is Missoula International Airport. If you are coming in early we recommend staying Downtown Missoula for a very cool art, food and shopping scene and in what we think is Montana’s best college town.

Is there transportation from Missoula International Airport to Triple Creek Ranch?

Airport Transfers can be arranged through Triple Creek’s Pre-Arrival Concierge for a cost of $200 per person, round trip (pick up on arrival day, drop off on departure day). There are three cabins that require guests to have a vehicle - Stage Stop, Osprey, and Riverside - as the Ranch is not as readily available to provide transportation to/from these cabins and they are not within easy walking distance of the main Lodge.

How do we get around when we are at the Ranch?

Some cabins are close to the lodge (noted in cabin list below) and some are farther away. The ranch will be available for transportation to and from (unless otherwise noted) or you can drive yourself.

What is February/Winter like in Montana?

The Winter Weather in Montana is extremely hard to predict. Some years we have snow storm after snow storm and some years we don't have much mositure. While we want to tell you the Ranch will be covered in a blanket of fluffy white snow, we cannot guarantee the weather. This being said, activities may be subject to change depending on the weather. Flexibility is key when planning a winter trip to the Big Sky State.

How is Winter driving in Montana

Driving in winter in Montana can also be unpredictable. If you are not comfortable or have experience driving in snow and ice we recommend you use the Ranch’s transportation service. The roads down the Bitterroot Valley are precarious and the road out to the Ranch even more so. Once at the Ranch, some of the roads are steep to and from cabins and the lodge.

If you do drive, 4-wheel drive is required.

Knit Ski?! I don't ski! Can I still join?

Absolutely. We will be doing a variety of winter activities so even if you don’t ski, you can still enjoy this beautiful venue.

You should know that this is more on the active side of retreats. In order to take advantage of the retreat space we will be getting out in nature (even if it is cold), there are stairs in the Lodge and we will be as adventurous as possible!

My partner/child would love to join me! Can they come too?

Unfortunately no, partners and kiddos need to sit this one out. We know they are going to behave and do their own thing, but such a big part of our retreats are having some time to step outside of your zone, meet new people, and reflect on your life. This comes much more naturally when we leave our people at home.

Is there a spa or other activities that we can participate in?

Not included in the Retreat price but things you can add are massages, facials, body wraps, trap shooting, dog sledding and more.

What amenities are included in the room?

Each room has a blow dryer, basic toiletries, robes, towels, shampoo, conditioner, fridge stocked with local beer, sodas, water, coffee and tea.

Wait? Your 4 hours from Great Falls?! How will I get my yarn fix?

Don’t you worry your little yarnie heart out! We will be setting up a marketplace where you can shop, knit and get your FDF fix.

I have food allergies or dietary restrictions. Can the Ranch accommodate?

Absolutely! We will be getting that information from you once we have you confirmed for the retreat.

What should I pack?

We will be sending out a packing list via our Discord Group closer to the retreat! This will include what you need for Joji’s class.

Do I earn FDF tokens for the retreat?

We are not able to offer rewards tokens for retreat payments. We are a small business and appreciate your understanding.

What is the cancellation policy?

You are able to get a 50% refund within 45 days of retreat. No refunds after 45 days. If we can fill your spot we can give a 90% refund.

I got into the retreat! What are the next steps?

If you secured a spot at Knit Ski we will be contacting you within 48 hours via email to welcome you, request more information and provide a timeline.
