Located in Terrebonne, Oregon, Imperial Yarn produces premium, ethically sourced yarns and fibers, 100% American grown and made. Once a year, they harvest soft white wool from their Rambouillet sheep and Huacaya alpacas, beginning the careful process of transforming this renewable resource into yarns without the use of harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures. The result: soft, pure, and beautifully comfortable fibers in a wide range of custom solids and heathers, perfect for knitters, weavers, and fiber artists.
Since 2017, they have proudly partnered with Fibershed to offer Climate Beneficial™ Verified Wool, traceable to the ranch of origin. The ranch and partner farms implement regenerative carbon-farming practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and restore soil health, helping us steward the land while supporting hardworking American producers. At Imperial Yarn, sustainability, transparency, and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything they do.
This quarter’s Yarn for Book Club is inspired by The Salt Stones: Seasons of a Shepherds Life by Helen Whybrow.
