Description
The Tutka pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down in the round. Short rows are worked to raise the back neck and improve the fit. Lace and bobble details and a loose gauge make this a sweet, lightweight sweater in spite of the heavier yarn used. The length of the body and sleeves is easily adjustable to your preference. Check out the cardigan version here!
I chose to use The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers’ Oh Dang!- brushed suri alpaca- held double for my sample which makes an extremely soft and lightweight fabric. This pattern is very adaptable to different yarn weights, as long as gauge is met there is so much room to play around with different yarns! The yardage listed is for yarn held double, but the yardage requirements for yarn held single is listed in the details below.
FDF's sample was knit out of Oh Dang (held double) in Ludlow's Army.
Recommended Needle Size: US 7 (4.5 mm) & US 8 (5.0 mm)
Yarns we recommend using are:
Oh Dang!
Pishkun
Spinster's Daughter Worsted
While FDF no longer carries these two bases in our shop check out some of stockists that do! Recollect Worsted & Reminisce Worsted
Tips:
Note- You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit—in this case, the design is worked in the round. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring.
